Are you a word person with an interest in high tech?
Tansa Systems, LLC, a leading provider of software and services to media companies, is looking to expand its North American team. Tansa is seeking a highly motivated, customer-focused team player to provide dictionary services and text proofing system support to our English-language clients in a dynamic, fast-paced atmosphere.
We need someone with a talent for copyediting, an interest in dictionaries and a desire to work with software and systems.
The responsibilities of the Language Support Specialist position will include the following:
- Managing the dictionary customization process for all new customers
- Working directly with new customers to ensure that our dictionaries satisfy their text proofing requirements
- Troubleshooting customer support issues
- Working with our language staff in Norway to provide ongoing dictionary customization and support services to all existing customers
- Testing new software releases
- Updating support documentation
- Copy editing marketing materials and sales collateral
Job requirements include:
- Bachelor’s degree
- At least two (2) years experience working on a newspaper or magazine copy editing desk, and a proven ability with:
- Spelling
- Style
- Grammar
- Dealing with deadlines
- Working knowledge of these specific technologies:
- Various versions of the Windows operating system
- Mac OS X operating system
- Desktop publishing applications, like Microsoft Word, QuarkXPress and Adobe InDesign
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to travel (up to 50 percent of the time), including international travel
- Ability to work evenings and weekends when required
- Fluency in Spanish is a definite plus
